The clinical examples shown here are for the benefit of women who have concerns about their existing breast implants. The patients shown here have agreed to allow their images to be shown anonymously for the benefit of other women, who also have issues with their existing breast implants and are considering a revisionary procedure. The commonest reason for breast implant revision is capsular contracture (implant scarring) making the implants firm and deformed. Other reasons for implant replacement are proven or suspected silicone gel leakage as well as palpability, rippling, asymmetry or aesthetic reasons such as desire for increased size. Dr Ross’s experience is that over 80% of implant revision cases relate to silicone gel filled implants, so he usually suggests replacement with saline implants that are known to be more reliable. Please read the associated text about revisional breast augmentation and Dr Ross is happy to discuss your concerns and a possible management plan. Please contact our Brighton office for more details.
